Floyd Hall
- Former Chairman of K-Mart.
- Had no known transportation industry experience before arriving on Amtrak's Board.
- Gave $325,000 in "soft money" to RNC state elections committees between 2000 and 2002. (You can look it up here.)
- Was initially appointed to the Amtrak Board on September 12, 2003 .
- Has never received confirmation by the Senate, and was mysteriously absent when called before Congress to testify about his role in the controversial firing of Amtrak's last president, David Gunn.
- Has never made a public statement of any sort that I can find on transportation or rail policy.
- Refused to so much as acknowledge receipt of my copious correspondence sent to him regarding the financial "hit" on the Northeast Corridor commuters.
